WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – More than one hundred and sixty eye doctors across the state are participating in an initiative that provides free eye exams to students who failed the statewide third grade reading test.
Dr. Stacie Moore at the Eye Clinic of West Point says vision problems could be a reason a child has trouble reading. She says an exam is a relatively painless process that tests eye movement, visual acuity and checks for glaucoma and other eye disorders.

Parents must provide the doctor with documentation of their child’s test results.
