Identity of Monroe County Fire Victim Released

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The name of the woman killed in a housefire late Wednesday night has been released.

Sheila Markham, 51, was present in the home when it caught fire.

The cause of fire is still under investigation.

Two men attempted to pull Markham out of her home  but were unsuccessful due to the amount of fire and smoke.

The body was sent to the Mississippi State Medical Exmainer and an autopsy will be conducted tommorrow.
