STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Starkville Oktibbeha consolidated district made more steps Tuesday toward its partnership school with Mississippi State University.

The school board heard from the architect and MSU representatives in a meeting.

The budget for the project is revealed to be $27.5 million and the completion date is estimated to be July of 2018.

The school will be for around 900 students in sixth and seventh grades and will be located on MSU’s campus. The building will also be home to MSU classes.

The school district, MSU and the state will all each put $10 million toward the project. The district plans on accepting bids in February in March.
