Aberdeen Police Investigation Not Completed
ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — Monroe County sheriff’s investigators have not yet completed their probe into a confrontation between Aberdeen’s police chief and an officer.
Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says his department has sought some outside assistance to review video tapes and other information on a pushing match last Friday between Aberdeen Chief Henry Randall and officer Jason Franks. Cantrell says his department’s report should be ready next week.
Randle says the dispute began after Franks refused to sign a report from a meeting between the two men. Randle says the men have clashed before and blamed part of the differences on Franks close relationship with Mayor Cecil Belle.
Aberdeen aldermen asked for the outside review of the case.
