WINONA, Miss. (WCBI)-
Industrial parks in two Mississippi counties got good news today.
They partnered with ATT & became “Fiber Ready”!
Vacant Industrial parks could see some growth and renewal soon…
Today, the cities of Eupora & Winona partnered with AT&T to become “fiber ready”.
“And what that means is this park has been certified to have fiber optic services available to them.” said AT&T’s Mississippi President, Mayo Flynt.
This is very beneficial to the industrial parks future.
“Being able to offer fiber and having all the utilities and infrastructure that any major area can offer will allow us to remain competitive even as a rural community.”said Lara Bowman.
This makes the communities much more appealing for prospective business owners looking to build industries in the area.
Mayor Flowers, of Winona, is very excited about the possibilities this agreement brings.
“JOBS! That’s what we’re looking for, hopefully we can get them with the Enterprise here and Sue Stedam with Main Street here in Winona, I think that we’re primed here in the North roads of Mississippi.” said Flowers.
Mayo Flint, the president for ATT here in Mississippi says progress like this not only benefits ATT as an operator but the local community as well.
“It’s really a way to help Lara and the team at Enterprise really reassure people that if they’re looking at this area, they don’t have to worry about communications capabilities.” said Flynt.
Community officials hope this is one step of many in the right direction.
