Video: ‘Burger Bash’ Brings In Funds For Boys And Girls Clubs Of North Mississippi

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Hundreds of hungry folks got to enjoy a great lunch and help the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi.
The annual Boys and Girls Clubs Burger Bash was held during lunch in downtown Tupelo. Volunteers cooked 500 hamburger lunches, and the fundraiser was a sell out.
All funds raised will help the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi provide safe, positive environments for youngsters after school and during the summer.
Organizers say the Burger Bash is a positive investment in a great organization.
“The Boys and Girls Club is the biggest advocate for our youth in the community, it fills the gap after school from when parents work, whatever, so they can go to a safe environment be around positive influence,” said Shipman Sloan, who is on the advisory committee of the organization.
In past years, the Burger Bash has raised as much as $5,000.
