Video: Tupelo Man Gets 15 Years for Killing His Girlfriend
PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) -A Tupelo man will spend the next 15 years in prison for killing his girlfriend.
Merle Copeland was originally charged with murder for the April 2015 death of Tomika Morris.
Morris was stabbed to death at the Motel 6 in Tupelo.
Copeland pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter in the case.
Judge James Roberts sentenced him to 20 years in prison with 5 of those suspended.
