Video: Concert At Mooreville Middle School Raises Awareness For Fundraiser

MOOREVILLE, MISS. (WCBI) – Thomas Stringfellow performed for Mooreville Middle School students. The finalist in the last season of “American Idol” is in the area for a fundraiser benefitting “Make A Wish.”

Stringfellow was part of a concert this morning at Mooreville Middle School to raise awareness of the “Make A Wish ” event, which will be held at Bim Bam Burgers in Tupelo.

Organizers say the two day event will help grant wishes of children with life threatening illnesses.

“Bim Bam has always been big on helping people we just did something for the schools, for the kids that don’t have everything they need and in some form or fashion we;re always helping with churches with needy and we’re really glad to be a part of this,” said Erica Barragan, whose husband owns the restaurant.

“Each wish varies in price, whether you are wanting to meet somebody, or go to Disney World, which is the popular thing to do or you want a baseball field like I did, so it takes a lot of volunteers and takes a lot of effort and it does take funding, unfortunately, that’s the world we live in, wishes can’t be free,” said Sam Farris, who is a cancer survivor and an ambassador for ‘Make A Wish.”

The two day fundraiser runs Friday evening and all day Saturday. Stringfellow, along with another American Idol finalist , Tristan Blaine, and Alabama based “Crossing Dixie” will perform. For more information go to midsouth.wish.org/news-and-events
