Video: City Trying to Increase Interest in Trotter as a Wedding Venue

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –A little love can bring visitors to downtown Columbus.

The Trotter Convention Center wants to host more outdoor events, with an eye toward weddings.

There is room for nearly 300 guests seated on the patio at the north end of the center. Then the wedding party could move inside for a reception.

Trotter director Mike Anderson says more visitors downtown will add to the local economy.

“What we are trying to do is do some additional marketing for the Trotter. We are trying to set up for outdoor events especially weddings. There are not many outdoor wedding venues and that is what we’re offering.”
