Video: Hazzle Hosts 22nd Annual Razzle Dazzle Basketball Camp
ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — An annual tradition continued in Aberdeen this week.
Long-time basketball coach Roy Hazzle hosted his annual Razzle Dazzle Basketball Camp for kids ages 5 to 15 at the Aberdeen Parks and Recreation center.
Hazzle spent 36 years as coach of the Aberdeen Bulldogs and continues to enjoy giving back to kids in the community.
“It is very exciting first of all for me,” Hazzle said. “It’s a joy because if you don’t have fun in what you’re doing, it’s not the right thing for you.
“We teach them the little things that’s going to help them. We tell them attitudes that will get them a long way. Great attitudes, sportsmanship and obedience are important. The whistle means to stop so do as you’re asked and told. Follow the rules of the camp and when the referee calls the game you play the game.”
Hazzle says they had 25 kids for the first day of the annual camp and he expects more to turn out.
The Razzle Dazzle Basketball Camp will continue Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 12pm at the Aberdeen Parks and Recreation center.
