STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) –Some kids in Starkville are getting fired up about Summer Camp.
About a dozen youngsters have been taking part in the Starkville Fire Department’s 4th Annual Fire Academy Camp.
Campers have been learning about all areas of Emergency Services. Thursday they got the lowdown on law enforcement from Starkville Police officers.
“We also had a day we just did firefighter stuff. We talked to them on how to be firefighters. Taught them safety, home safety, and we try to have them be like firefighters. So, what we have them do, we have them exercise every morning for thirty minutes to keep them fit.”
The kids also found out more about what paramedics do, and even got to see an emergency helicopter.
