COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The Columbus City Council approved phase one of the Columbus Amphitheater project in their meeting Tuesday night.
The council unanimously approve the $3.292 million dollar phase, which includes the construction of the stage, sewage and sanitation, the civil site, and electrical.
“It’ll be a great asset to the city, it’ll be a great asset to the area because it’s connected to the pedestrian bridge”, said Mayor Robert Smith, “…I’m just elated the council saw fit to give the engineer contractors an opportunity to go forward with the process.”
Both Smith and engineers believe phase one of the project will be completed by April 2017.
