COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Dozens of volunteers in Columbus are recognized for the countless hours they spend giving back to the community.
United Way’s Volunteer Columbus hosted an awards and appreciation luncheon Thursday.
Sixty-three volunteers received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in recognition of the hours they have devoted to local agencies.
Two people were recognized for giving almost 800 hours of service.
Jo Shumake from the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service was the guest speaker for the event.
