Vigil Honors Dallas Officers

As the families of the Dallas police officers prepare to say goodbye one Mississippi county wants them to know they are united behind them.

This evening Montgomery county officials and residents joined together in a prayer vigil in honor of the fallen Dallas officers.

Five officers were shot and killed by sniper fire during what was supposed to be a peaceful black lives matter protest in Dallas.

Winona Mayor, Jerry Flowers says it’s just one way we all can do something to show support.

“We should all support our officers there are some good ones, there are some bad ones.. but 99 percent are good.” said Flowers.

Law enforcement officers from both Montgomery County Sheriffs Department and the Winona Police Department participated in this evenings vigil.
