Former Ole Miss Star Heading To All Star Game
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Former Ole Miss Rebel pitcher Drew Pomeranz will represent the San Diego Padres at their home field, Petco Park, in next week’s MLB 2016 All Star Game.
Pomeranz will replace New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard due to arm fatigue.
Pomeranz is having a breakout season in his fifth year as a pro, having an 8-7 record with a 2.47 ERA, tied for the third lowest in the National League.
The big lefty also has a home run and 4 runs batted in on the year.
Pomeranz pitched for the Rebels for two years before being drafted in the first round in the 2010 MLB Draft.
