VIDEO: Macon Kicks Off The Holiday Weekend With Friendly Fun
MACON, Miss. (WCBI) – Folks in Macon LITERALLY kicked off the 4th of July holiday weekend.
Kickball teams from all over north Mississippi were in Macon getting a kick out of kickball.
More than 25 teams were playing for fun, as well as a first place trophy and, of course, bragging rights.
“Today is about a day of fun, we’re bringing together communities from all over the golden triangle area we got people from starkville, columbus, macon, sugarblock, artesia, west point, just everywhere from the golden triangle trying to come together on a positive note and have fun any age we ain’t turning nobody down,” says Lester Brooks, event organizer.
Organizers say they hope to turn the kickball tournament into an annual event.
