Video: Colom Set To Discuss Ricky Ball Case
COLUMBUS, MS (WCBI) – Lowndes County District Attorney Scott Colom says he is ready to take the next step in the investigation of a controversial police shooting in Columbus.
Colom says he will announce Wednesday his next steps concerning the October 2015 shooting death of Ricky Ball by Columbus officer Canyon Boykin. Ball died after he fled a traffic stop and was shot by Boykin. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation handled that investigation and presented its completed report to Colom June first. Colom said at that time he would review the findings of the MBI and then decide how to proceed. The briefing is set for Wednesday at 11 o clock at the Lowndes County Courthouse and the D-A says the public is welcome to attend and hear the update.
