Rain returns tomorrow night
COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – SUMMARY: Rain chances increase tomorrow evening as a strong cold front approaches our region from the west. Once the front clears Thursday morning, much cooler air will remain through Friday.
TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and seasonably cool with lows in the low-50s. Variable wind, 3-5 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms after 6pm. Afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 70s. Southeast wind 5-10 mph. Chance of rain: 60%.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Occasional showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the low-50s. South wind 10-20 mph. Chance of rain: 100%.
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: Wrap around moisture will keep scattered showers in the forecast Thursday (50%) then isolated showers Friday (30%). Cooler air arrives with highs in the upper-50s to low-60s both days.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: High school games Friday night will be dry and cold. Expect temperatures in the mid-50s at kickoff and under a mostly cloudy sky, then low-50s for the drive home.
TROPICS: Tropical storm formation is possible in the North Atlantic through the next five days (40% chance of development). Elsewhere across the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico, all is quiet and tropical storm formation is not expected this week.
