Video: Police Chief Search Continues To Next Week
WINONA, Miss. (WCBI) — The Winona Board of Alderman held a special meeting Thursday to interview six candidates for their police chief vacancy.
After several weeks of reviewing resumes, the board is getting closer to making a final decision. The city is expected to fill the position during their regularly scheduled board meeting next Tuesday.
“[The new chief] will be to run the police department and run it to the best ability that he can and to be the biggest asset to the citizens of Winona…”, said Mayor Jerry Flowers on what he expects in the next chief, “…I think it’s very important that the police department are friends of the community as well as protect the community.
“The community has to trust the police force as they do now.”
