COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The wait at some Columbus stop lights will soon become much shorter.
About 10 censors, at various intersections, are broken.
Columbus Light and Water will soon start taking bid on contracts for the repairs after city councilmen gave the go ahead for the work.
Underground cables at the traffic signals have been damaged over time and no longer work.
Those cables are what alerts the signal a car is waiting and for the light to soon change.
Once a bid is approved, it will take about a month to complete the work.
