1 Killed In Montgomery County Crash

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Montgomery County man is killed in a two vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says the accident happened about 9 this morning on Highway 82, near Stewart.

Troopers say a car driven by 20 year-old Nicholas Jones of Stewart was going on Steward-Lodi Road and pulled into the eastbound lane of Highway 82.

The big rig, driven by Vernon Jackson of Tchula, was going east on 82.

Jones died at the scene.

Jackson was taken to Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
