Columbus Councilman’s City Phone Disconnected
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus City Councilman Marty Turner’s city owned cell phone has been disconnected.
The move comes after a weekend of Facebook posts where Turner threatened to kill someone.
In the same series of posts, Turner claims someone is trying to kill him.
Turner also accused a county supervisor of having a relationship with a county department head.
State Representative Kabir Karriem is called a derogatory name in the posts.
The city has not commented on the disconnection.
This past April, Mayor Robert Smith had removed Turner from an executive session of the city council for being disruptive.
Turner represents Ward 4.
