– Man Shot By Tupelo Police Dies

TUPELO, Miss (WCBI) – The man shot by A Tupelo Police officer Saturday evening following a miles long high speed chase has died.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green says 27 year old Lyndarius Witherspoon died earlier today.  Missisisippi Bureau of Investigation spokesman Warren Strain says Weatherspoon lived at a South Tupelo home   The MBI has taken over the investigation at the request of the Tupelo Police Department.   Witherspoon was the prime suspect in the Saturday murder of a Baldwyn woman . That’s what led to the pursuit by Tupelo officers and other agencies. It all ended at the Hillsdale Apartments on Monument when Witherspoon crashed his car and continued to threaten officers who then shot him.
