Churches Gear Up For Biggest Annual Outreach

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Many churches throughout our area are having VBS the next few weeks. For many churches, it is the largest outreach of the year.

Pastor Keith Cochran,  of Tupelo’s West Jackson Street Baptist Church,  says VBS is an opportunity to reach not only children, but also entire families.

“We will have children from the community that will just walk here for VBS, children from other churches that maybe don’t have a VBS and children who don’t go to church and they come here to be a part of what we’re doing. Through that we can minister to the child and also minister to the family, tell them about Jesus and be able to encourage them, and hopefully get them plugged into a church, ours or a church somewhere,” Pastor Cochran said.

Money was collected each day at West Jackson’s VBS for the “Children’s Hunger Fund.
