All Clear Given On Suspicious Package

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus emergency responders gave an all-clear about an hour after a suspicious package was found inside a mailbox.

Columbus Fire and Rescue Spokesman Anthony Colom says a person received a package at their Jasmine Street home. An unknown substance got on the person’s hand when they reached inside to grab the package.

Columbus police, a Hazmat team, emergency management, and the health department responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported.
