Video: Amory Train Derailment Clean-Up Continues

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – A train derailed just south of Amory on Monday morning.

Monroe County EMA Director Bunky Goza says the derailment happened just off Cotton Gin Port Road.

A BNSF Railroad spokesman says the northbound train was carrying approximately 40 vehicles.

No injuries or hazardous spills were reported.

The railroad says two railcars derailed on their side.

One locomotive derailed but remained upright.

The train had four locomotives total.

Two companies are assisting the railroad in the clean-up.

All roadways in the area are open.

The rail line is expected to be cleared just after midnight.

BNSF is investigating the cause of the derailment.
