Video: Preliminary Report in Fatal Tupelo Plane Crash
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -The National Transportation Safety Board releases information on the possible cause of a plane crash that killed 4 people in Tupelo earlier this month.
In a preliminary report, the NTSB finds that an exhaust pipe was missing from the exhaust side of the engine’s turbocharger.
The pipe was found on the airport’s runway. It reportedly showed evidence of cracking.
The Beech aircraft crashed May 16th while trying to return to Tupelo Regional Airport, after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.
4 People died in that crash..
The preliminary report is subject to change if further evidence is found. There is no timeframe for the final report.
