Update: 3 Arrested In Lowndes Armed Robberies
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Lowndes County deputies arrest three men they believe are responsible for the string of armed robberies in the county.
Ziree Butler, Christopher Tate, and Curtis Clay are charged with two counts of armed robbery.
Deputies believe the men robbed the Country Mart on Highway 182 and Food Mart on Land Road.
Sheriff Mike Arledge tells WCBI the arrests were made thanks to the help of Columbus police, and the community.
“We had some forensic evidence, also we had some confidential informants give us some information on it, and just the public giving us some information here and there,” Arledge said. “And of course we worked together with the police department to put all this together, and were able to make these arrests.”
Columbus police say the trio is also responsible for the armed robbery at the Creekstone Chevron on Highway 45 North.
No additional arrests are expected.
