UPDATE: Video: Columbus Lowe’s Reopens After Bomb Threat

lowesCOLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI-TV)  – Things are getting back to normal at the Columbus Lowe’s after investigators wrap up a bomb search

The Columbus Police Department and Columbus Fire and Rescue, along with Security Personnel and bomb sniffing dogs from Columbus Air Force Base  responded to the store around 2:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Assistant Police Chief Fred Shelton says a male caller phoned in the threat.

Police have a phone number, and are still running down other leads.

Shelton tells WCBI  that the department treats all threats as credible threats.

“People say a credible threat. What’s a credible threat and what’s not a credible threat? We have to treat each one as a real threat until we find out something different. Each one is not a false bomb call. It’s a bomb call period.”

The caller could face a number of serious charges and to a $10,000.00 fine and 10 years in prison.
