VERNON, Ala. (WCBI) – Family and friends of missing Vernon Alabama woman Keshia Turner are uniting in an effort to help find her. Turner was reported missing on Thursday when she didn’t return home from running errands.
“We don’t have things like this happen here,” says Carmen Pinkerton, Turner’s friend from high school.
The Vernon Alabama community is in disbelief. Twenty-nine year old Keshia Turner disappeared on February 19th. Her mother reported her missing when she didn’t return home from running errands. Now her friends and family are posting flyers, hoping that someone will come forward with information.
“I worked with her for a very long time up there at the Vernon Nursing Home and I mean, she was just a well-rounded great person,” says Pinkerton.
“She has three beautiful children and she really needs to be returned home to her family. If anyone has any information, please call the Vernon Police Department. We have the number on all of our flyers,” says long-time friend, April Cole.
Though Turner’s family did not want to be interviewed, Turner’s father, Ricky Nalls was out posting flyers in the neighborhood. Turner lived next door to her parents and was an only child born and raised in Vernon.
“The whole community is concerned. Their out putting up posters, looking at tags, looking at cars, doing what ever they can, making phone calls. A lot of people feel like what they’re doing is not enough but I know the family really appreciates everything they’re doing,” says Pastor James Godsey, of the Full Gospel Worship Church in Vernon.
Turner’s mother, Kathleen Nalls, says police found traces of blood and signs of forced entry at her daughter’s home on Old Highway 18. Turner’s vehicle, a 2001 silver Honda Civic, has also not been located.
The LaMar County District Attorney’s office hasn’t released any other information at this time and the case is still under investigation.
