TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Sanctuary Hospice House recognized a retired north Mississippi medical worker for her years of service on Monday.
Ann Walker spent 39 years in the medical field before calling it retiring last year.
For 20 years she was the Home Health and Hospice Director at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
Walker was awarded the Mississippi Heart of Hospice Award in 2014.
Monday’s reception was held in honor of Black History Month.
Walker hopes her work made an impact on others.
“I hope by my living that I have been able to just touch someone, to be just a very small part of making their life’s experiences better.
Because in helping others, that is actually how we help ourselves,” said Walker.
Walker continues to do volunteer work in her home town of Corinth.
