Houston Community Theater Celebrates 10 Years with Production of ‘Li’l Abner’
HOUSTON, Miss. (WCBI) — It’s an all-time musical favorite in Chickasaw County. The Houston Community Theater presented the Broadway hit “Li’l Abner” for the third time in the last decade to a sold out crowd.
The Houston Community Theater group is also celebrating it’s 10th anniversary of serving the community through the arts. Performers included local students, community and church members. Director Janet Cocker says “Li’l Abner” keeps the community coming back for more.
“No matter what we’ve done, we’ve done Hello Dolly, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma, Bye Bye Birdy. Everybody says those were great but we love Li’l Abner. So Li’l Abner is back as a crowd favorite.
The production was performed at the Houston High School Auditorium.
