Video: Local Law Enforcement Gather to Remember the Fallen

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -It was a time to honor and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice serving and protecting.

The annual ” Northeast Mississippi Law Enforcement Memorial” took place Thursday at the ELvis Presley Birthplace in Tupelo.

Names of local officers killed in the line of duty were read, and a candlelight service was also held.

Guest speaker was Adam Harmon, brother of Casey Harmon, a Lee County Jailer who was killed in the line of duty on March 2nd 1998.

“It goes to show you that it’s a brotherhood and even though a lot of these people didn’t know Casey, he will always be remembered and never forgotten and no matter what goes on from here on he’s going to be recognized.”

The memorial ceremony was held at the Elvis Presley Birthplace because of Elvis’ well known admiration and support of law enforcement officers throughout his life.
