Oktibbeha Sheriff Getting New Patrol Cars
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) – The Okitbbeha County sheriff’s office has been approved for 15 new vehicles.
The Starkville Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/P89C9v) that Sheriff Steve Gladney says his department can now reduce maintenance costs on cars that have wear and tear and high mileage.
The board of supervisors Monday approved 15 2013 Dodge Chargers as part of a lease-purchase contract with a Jackson auto dealer.
The sheriff’s department will make four annual payments of $102,097 for the cars.
Gladney says his office will sell the 17 pre-2009 cars the department has now to offset purchasing costs once the new cars are delivered and ready for use.
