UPDATE: Lee County Sheriff Releases Name of Suspect in Cab Driver Homicide

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says they are looking for Leonta Gates.

Gates is the suspect in the homicide of a Tupelo cab driver that was found on Graham Drive Friday night.

He is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, weighing around 166 pounds.

The Sheriff’s Department identified the victim as 55 year old Charles Williams. He was shot in the head.

Gates is wanted for capital murder, armed robbery, grand larceny, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Gates was convicted of Armed Robbery at age 17.
