Video: Lowndes County Hires New I.T. Director

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -After narrowing down the candidates, Lowndes County Supervisors agree to hire an I.T. director

During today’s board of supervisor’s meeting County leaders decide to hire Lance Bishop for the County’s I-T director position.

Bishop is currently the I.T. director for Adams County.

Bishop will be brought in on a $62,500.00 salary.

4 candidates applied for the position.

Supervisors Jeff Smith and Leroy Brooks questioned how the county will pay Bishop’s salary.

Board President Harry Sanders says the county has money in the payroll account.

Sanders says the county can dip into reserves if money is a problem.

All except Brooks voted in favor of the new hire.

Bishop’s first day on the job will be July 1st
