Man Charged In Triple Homicide Set For Quick Court Appearance
WINONA, Miss. (AP) – An ex-convict accused of killing the mother and grandmother of his 12-year-old son as well as another man is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
Odell Hallmon has been jailed without bond since his arrest on charges of first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm in the April 12 shootings.
He also faces an aggravated assault charge in the shooting of a fourth man who survived.
He waived an initial appearance in Montgomery County Justice Court on Tuesday, and it’s unclear why he would appear so quickly in circuit court again. Montgomery County District Attorney Doug Evans and defense lawyer Neal Marlow didn’t return calls.
Montgomery County Sheriff Bubba Nix has said that Hallmon’s former girlfriend made him leave their home weeks before the shootings.
