Video: Area Social Worker Honored

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A social worker with the Tupelo based Family Resource Center gets a big surprise and honor.

The Tupelo Exchange Club names Amanda Frederick as “Social Worker of the Year.”

Frederick was nominated by area residents, who were asked to pick a social worker who makes a difference daily.

She says it is an honor being able to help people and families with a number of situations.

“We see families a lot of times in crisis and we see all kinds of situations, people who come in and need anything from financial assistance to just somebody to listen to them and to be kind to them and I’ve learned over the years that those two things are major.”

Next year, the Exchange Club of Tupelo will honor a Police Officer of the Year.
