Video: Tupelo Police Searching for Dollar Tree Robber

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Tupelo Police need your help looking for a robbery suspect.

Around 9:00 Tuesday morning, officers responded to a call at Dollar Tree on 900 Rabbit Drive in Tupelo.

An employee told police that a black male displayed a knife and demanded money from the register.

He ran off before the register was opened.

Police searched the area, but weren’t able to find the would-be robber.

For safety measures, Rankin Elementary was put on a partial lockdown while officers searched, but it was quickly lifted.

The suspect is described as a black male with a full beard, dressed in all black.

He was last seen wearing a beanie and a long-sleeve shirt, and he ran on foot toward Lumpkin Avenue.

The investigation is ongoing.
