Walthall Fire Department Extinguishes Log Truck Blaze

WALTHALL, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – A log truck caught fire in

Webster County early Monday morning.

Around 7:00am, Walthall Fire Department responded to Highway 9 North of Bellefontaine at the intersection of Dorrah Road for an 18-wheeler that was ablaze with heavy fire.

Walthall Engine 6 was the first on the scene and began attempting to put the fire out immediately.

Bellefontaine Fire also responded, and Walthall Chief 601 asked for Sabougla Fire Department out of the State Springs station for support.

The fire was contained to the truck, without spreading to the loaded

trailer. Foam was used to extinguish the blaze due to it being a diesel fuel fire that had spread out of the fuel tanks.

The fire was extinguished quickly, and no injuries are being reported.
