TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – A Northeast Mississippi attorney announces his candidacy for the Mississippi Supreme Court.
This afternoon, Steve Crampton , surrounded by his family, said he wants to bring his experience and conservative values to the state’s highest court.
Crampton worked for the American Family Association, and Liberty Counsel, and now has his own law firm.
“Mississippi I believe is a conservative state, my conservative values should be a plus and not a minus in my view. I am not here to deny anyone his or her rights, what I am here to do is see that justice is meted out fairly and impartially but you do it with a depth of experience and background that I hope I can bring and add something to the court,” Crampton said.
Crampton faces three opponents in the race for District Three Place. It is the seat held by Justice Ann Lamar, who is retiring. The election takes place November 8th.
