STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Horseplay in class was perfectly okay for some elementary students in Starkville today.
Gracie, a miniature horse, and her owner today stopped by Sudduth Elementary School to present their “Stand Tall” program.
The interactive character enrichment program focuses on bullying and teaches children skills to take a stand against it.
Gracie and Mary Shannon encourage children to embrace four important principles.
“One of the things we want to get across to the students is that by showing courage, kindness, truth and respect is also a great way to stop bullying,” Shannon said. “And that is at home, with your friends and at school. And you can carry that message wherever you go.”
Students participated in grooming, tacking, leading and caring for Gracie during today’s session.
