Video: Code Red Coming To Clay County

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Clay County residents will soon get a heads-up phone call when there’s an man-made or weather emergency.
The calls will mostly like come from 911 or Emergency Management.
Supervisors agreed to join a partnership with the Golden Triangle Planning and Development District to bring the Code Red alert system to the county.
West Point and Clay County will split the nearly $4,000 cost, based on population, which boils down to about 16 cents per person.
Software will need to be installed and staff trained before residents can sign-up for the alert.
Lowndes, Noxubee, Webster and Winston Counties will also have the Code Red system.
