STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCB) – The Starkville community is taking promoting health to the next level.

Thursday the Healthy Starkville Committee hosted an event at the OCH Regional Medical Center to get community leaders on board with a healthy living. Thursdays event brought together close to 50 organizations and discussed ways to strengthen and improve the quality of life for area residents.

Four areas the committee plans on addressing are physical and emotional health, education of all ages, safety, and economic well-being.

Chris Gottbrath with the Healthy Starkville Committee says, “We could probably draw on a wide variety of community organization and activities, get them all in the same room talking and that might lead to more sustainability and more progress by brining together different aspects.”
