LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Economic Council heard from business owners about the state’s economic climate on Thursday.
Issues, such as transportation, healthcare, and education were discussed at the organization’s annual Regional Round-Up at East Mississippi Community College’s Mayhew campus.
Education and its relationship to finding a job were voted as some of the most important topics by Golden Triangle business people.
The economic council is taking it’s plan on how to bring jobs to Mississippi to 30 communities.
“All across the state, economic competitiveness, work force in education, infrastructure, and then of course technology advancement. Those are the four pillars of progress of Blueprint Mississippi,” said Mississippi Economic Council President Blake Wilson.
State Treasurer Lynn Fitch was the guest speaker.
