ICC’s Hollenhead Named MACJC Softball Player of the Week
FULTON, Miss. (WCBI/LetsGoICC.com) – Freshman third baseman Mamie Hollenhead has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Player of the Week for her performance last week against Holmes Community College and Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
The Mathiston native batted .846 (11-of-13) with five RBI, one home run, one double and five runs scored to help the No. 12 Indians (37-8, 22-6 MACJC) go 4-0 on the week.
In the Game One against Holmes, she went 4-for-4 with two RBI, three runs scored and one home run and went 2-for-3 in the second game. Against Co-Lin, Hollenhead went 2-for-3 in the opening contest and 3-for-3 in the regular season finale with two RBI and two runs scored. She also had a fielding percentage of .938 with 5 put outs and 10 assists.
The Indians locked up the No. 3 seed with the sweep of Co-Lin and will host the No. 6 seed in a Best of Three series to open the MACJC Playoffs scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
