Miss. Supreme Court to Review 2 Lowndes County Convictions

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The state Supreme Court has agreed to review two Lowndes County convictions.

23-year-old Daryl Shinn is serving 35 years for the June 2011 armed robbery of Tiya’s Market on Waterworks Road and other crimes. The supreme court upheld the conviction once but this week said it would take another look at the case.

And the court agreed to review the grand larceny convictions and 20-year sentence being served by 53-year-old Vance Drummer.

Drummer was convicted of stealing equipment from two Columbus businesses in 2009 and leading police on a chase from Mathiston to Carroll County.
