Alabama Legislative Session Kicks Off With Few Surprises

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WCBI) – Alabama’s House of Representatives kicks off its organizational session by re-electing Representative Mike Hubbard as Speaker of the House.Hubbard has been indicted on 23 ethics charges.

Committee appointments and operating rules were also discussed at today’s session, which could end by Wednesday. Lawmakers will meet again March 3rd, when they’ll discuss the state budget and other major issues. That session could last fifteen weeks.
