COVID-19 cases and vaccination rates continue to rise in Mississippi

One healthy trend in all of this - The percentage of Mississippians getting vaccinated has edged up slightly.

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in Mississippi, but it’s not just cases going up.

For the 3 day reporting period between September 3rd and 5th, the Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 5,781 new cases of COVID-19.

There are a reported 146 outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

And the Department of Health is reporting 125 more deaths.

One healthy trend in all of this – The percentage of Mississippians getting vaccinated has edged up slightly.

38 percent of the adult population is now fully vaccinated.
