EMCC Spring Concert Series Held Today
MAYHEW, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – The East Mississippi Community College Golden Concert Choir hosted a Spring Concert Series Monday in the Lyceum at the Golden Triangle campus.
The concert featured the GT Concert Choir, pianists Betty Bryan and Joseph Stoll, along with MSU/Starkville Symphony Orchestra cellist Patti Gildea.
Gildea performed “Habanera” by Georges Bizet and “Melody in F” by Anton Rubenstein. Bryan, the choir accompanist, performed the classical works of “Moonlight Sonata MVT.1” by Beethoven and Prelude in G minor” by Rachmaninoff.
The Golden Triangle Choir’s performances included “Agnus Dei,” “Taylor the Latte Boy,” “Cold and Fugue Season,” “No Time” “Tortoise and the Hare,” “We are the Men” and “We Can Dream.”
The choir’s director, Jamie Taylor, and her daughter, Jordan Taylor, sang a duet – “What is this feeling” from Swartz’ “Wicked.”
Choir members are Leah Bently, Billy Edmonds, Elizabeth Hammond, Jade Justice, Jamie Mask, Sarah Marlin, Haley McCullough, Samantha Sims, Diego Sotomeneses, Joseph Stoll, Jordan Taylor, John Tedford, Heather Thompson, Nicole VanSlyke and Caleb Younger.
